Farmhouse in Somerset
This is a typical Somerset longhouse farmhouse. It is partly constructed in the 1700's and partly in the 1970's.
It was extensively restored in 2007. The total floor area is about 300 square metres on two floors.
The owners had a clear desire to reduce their dependence on carbon and investigated wind generators, solar panels and
ground source heatpumps. They went to the Ecobuild exhibition in February 2007 to find a suitable heating solution.
Discussions with ground source heat pump suppliers were held, but these would generally not supply a solution as this
was "not a newbuild".
However EHS had no such problems and they were selected for the heating solution. Two units - one for each floor - were fitted
in August 2007.
The owners have since recommended EHS to several of their acquaintances and also acted as reference case.
