Scout hut in Wales

This is a new-built scout hut for Usk, Monmouthshire. The organisers of 1st Usk Scouts - Alan Loxley and Nigel Meeks - had decided to construct a new building. Alan Loxley found EHS through a newsletter in December 2006. Alan and EHS had phone and email discussions during the spring of 2007. In August 2007 Alan asked EHS to answer some key concerns that the committee had raised - see here for further details. Nigel visited EHS' reference site in October 2007, and EHS visited the site together with the deciding committe in December 2007. A decision to proceed was taken in January 2008, and the units were fitted in February. EHS and Alan are working on making the Scout hut in to a reference case for other similar buildings.
