Panasonic Energy Saver - Savings performance
Opening a Window
Testing by the Swedish Energy Agency has confirmed 63% air heating cost
savings for the Panasonic Energy Saver.
This was verified at an annual average temperature of 8 degrees C. In England the mean annual
temperature at low altitudes varies from 8.5 °C to 11 °C
more info
which means the Panasonic Energy Saver will perform 5-20% better than in the Swedish Energy Agency test, as efficiency increases with higher
temperatures.
We have used an average gas and
electricity energy bill of £ 1,200 p.a. as an example. 63% savings in air heating
costs would mean that your energy bill drops down to about £ 600 – or a 50%
reduction as you will still have to pay for heating water and electricity. Gas is
currently the cheapest way of heating your house using conventional means.
Electricity and oil is generally more expensive, some users experience an average
energy bill of £ 2,000 – you should experience larger savings if you are using
electricity or oil.

The Panasonic Energy Saver has been designed to provide most of the air heating needs for an
average size house (for the Medium model up to 130 m2 or 1,400 square foot, and for the Large
up to 170 m2 or 1,800 square foot) down to an outdoor temperature of about minus 5 degrees C.
At lower temperatures the Panasonic Energy Saver needs to be supported by other heating means - such as
gas, electricity or oil. As can be seen from the graph on the left, other heating systems start to be needed at
about minus 5 degrees C - however, we rarely see temperatures falling below that level. This means the Panasonic
Energy Saver will supply close to 100% of the air heating needs for pretty much all of the year.
You will of course still have to pay your energy supplier for heating your water as well as any other
appliances using e.g. gas, oil or electricity. This amount will tend to vary considerably depending on how much
hot water you use. We have used 37% as a guidance in this savings example, as this level has been verified by a
government accredited testing unit - the Swedish Enery Agency.
